Biography
Marek Mizera pianist, was born in Bielsko-Biała, Poland. He graduated from the Warsaw Music Academy in 1980, studying under the supervision of Kazimierz Gierżod. As a post-graduate student, he worked with Kajetan Mochtak, Jerzy Godziszewski and Józef Stompel in Poland, and then abroad with Phil Cohen in Montreal and Lazar Berman in Moscow.
Throughout his career he has cooperated with renowned musicians, and has performed both as soloist and as accompanist.
His performances in Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Russia, Sweden, Finland, the United Kingdom, Austria, Canada, Cuba, China, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and the Republic of South Africa were favorably received by both audiences and critics. In March 2007 he debuted in London at St. John's, Smith Square. He has also pursued a teaching career for many years in both Poland and Finland.
He has made numerous recordings for Polish Radio and cooperates with a well-known recording company "Dux".
At present, he is a professor at the Institute for Musical Education of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce. In addition, he translates musicology texts and promotes contemporary Polish piano music as editor and performer.
